Dear Parents,
DLDAV MODEL SCHOOL PITAM PURA thrilled to extend an invitation to celebrate National Reading Day on June 19, 2024, as we endeavor to foster a deep appreciation for reading among our young learners. We have outlined simple steps for their participation:
Step 1: Selection of Book:
Encourage your child to choose their favourite book.
Step 2: Participation Guidelines
a) Video Submission:
Capture a brief 10-second video of your child engaging in 'reading aloud' from any chapter of their selected book.
b) Photographic Submission:
Assist your child in creating a creative expression related to the chosen book, such as a game, illustration, comic strip, puppet, or bookmark. Capture a clear photograph of your child holding their creation in one hand and the book (or a printout of its cover) in the other. Ensure a plain background, preferably white or off-white, for optimal clarity.
Submission Details:
Please share the video or photograph via email to dldavlibrary@gmail.com, including the child's name and class in the subject line, no later than June 21 2024.
Happy Reading !
We eagerly anticipate your enthusiastic participation.
Summer Reading Challenge 2024
DLDAV Model School, Library
‘My Library... My Creative Space!’-
Transforming the Library into a Hub of Inspiration!
Dear
Parents and Students
At
DLDAVPP, the Library is not just a space for books; it's a gateway to imagination
and learning. This summer, we invite our young readers to embark on a creative
journey and adorn our library walls with their artistic endeavors!
Classes I to V:
Library Wall Hanging Decor: Let's infuse color and
creativity into our library!
Students
need to craft meaningful and vibrant wall hangings themed around Library Rules,
Importance of Reading, and their Choice of Books. These artistic expressions
will not only beautify our space but also inspire fellow readers to immerse
themselves into the enchanting world of books.
Class VI:
Decorative
Cutouts: Let's
adorn our library with wisdom and inspiration! Students can create attractive
cutouts featuring quotations and sayings of great personalities. Unleash your
creativity and let your imagination adorn our walls with positivity and wisdom.
Classes VII and VIII:
Point and Write: In the era of photography, let's blend
creativity with captions!
Encourage
your child to snap photos related to nature, reading, or the environment, and accompany
each click with a silly or meaningful caption. Display the creative expression
on an A3 sheet.
Classes IX and X:
Tribute to Authors: This summer, pay homage to
your favorite authors!
Students
need to design A2 size posters showcasing the work of their most beloved
authors or a tribute to a specific book. Let's celebrate the literary
masterpieces that inspire us.
Rewards Await !
We eagerly anticipate the masterpiece
creations from our talented students. Let's make this summer a celebration of
creativity, imagination, and the joy of reading!
So Hurry Up! Let's embark on this artistic journey together and transform our library into a haven of inspiration!

“Reading is essential for those who wish to rise above the ordinary.”
DARBARI LAL DAV MODEL SCHOOL, PITAMPURA organized the book week from
28th Nov 22 to 3rd Dec 22 to enhance the reading skills of the students of all age groups.
The book week commenced with the inauguration of the Book Fair by the school principal, Ms. Seema Aggarwal. She motivated the students to inculcate the habit of reading books and pave one’s way into the kingdom of books, which inspires the students to fight the odds and do great things in life.
Author’s meet was also conducted with the most ingenious and famous children’s story book author, Ms Deepa Agarwal. Apart from this, the students of different classes participated in various activities related to the books and reading like bookmark making, book jacket designing, book exchange and reading with the grandparents amongst many others. An assembly was conducted by the students of class 7, where they enacted their favourite storybook character through character dramatization, interview with the author etc.
DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) activity was organised for all the classes where the students along with the teachers read any book apart from their textbook. All these activities initiated by the school polished the innovative skills and imagination of the students and supported their cognitive growth.

WORLD BOOK AND
COPYRIGHT DAY 2019
23 April, 2019
World Book
and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and
reading. Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to
recognize the magical power of books – a link between the past and the future,
a bridge between generations and across cultures. It is a symbolic date in the World of literature, also a date on which
William Shakespeare died. This date was a natural choice for UNESCO’s general
conference held in Paris in 1995, to pay a worldwide tribute to books and
authors.
On this
occasion, our school launches a competition to promote the significance of the
day.
